Kids and hunger NOW....

According to Feeding America, "Hunger deprives our kids of more than just food! It’s a simple fact: A child’s chance for a bright tomorrow starts with getting enough food to eat today. But this year, due in part to the coronavirus pandemic, 13 million children - 1 in every 6 kids - may not know where they will get their next meal."

• A family of four facing hunger may need additional meals a month simply because they don’t have money to buy enough food.

• 84% of households Feeding America serves report buying the cheapest food — instead of healthy food — in order to provide enough to eat.

• 25% of children in households at risk of hunger may be forced to rely exclusively on hunger relief charities like Feeding America to make ends meet."

We are so thankful for those in our community who volunteer to help keep this ministry going. We are also thankful for the many people, organizations, and businesses who have donated financially to this cause. On behalf of the NRG Pack board, we are grateful that as each month rolls around, we can "Provide Weekend Meals for Students in Need."
